Meet the Top 10 Finalists for the 2026 Fast Casual Frontrunners

Ten emerging brands. Sixty days of analysis. One Frontrunner.

Savor.fm and the Fast Casual Nation podcast are proud to announce the Top 10 finalists for the 2026 Fast Casual Frontrunners, an annual search for the founders and emerging restaurant concepts with the potential to shape the next era of fast casual.

This year’s field reflects where the industry is heading: globally inspired menus, culturally authentic founders, focused concepts, wellness-driven dining and brands capable of building passionate communities before becoming national chains.

This final ten were selected from more than 2,300 qualified fast casual and emerging brands in the SavorAI model built from more than 20 years of data analysis by Paul Barron entities from the former Restaurant Social Media Index to the Savor Insights model that currently looks at over 30,000 restaurant brands worldwide.

The finalists will now enter the final 60-day SavorAI analysis period. During this phase, Savor.fm will release podcast interviews with several founders, exploring their origin stories, differentiation, operating models, growth strategies, and visions for the future.

The process will culminate on December 15, 2026, when we will announce the 2026 Fast Casual Frontrunner.

The 2026 Top 10 Finalists

ChòpnBlọk

Founded by Ope Amosu in Houston, ChòpnBlọk is bringing West African cuisine into the American fast-casual conversation. Its bowls, proteins, rice, vegetables, and sauces translate Nigerian and broader West African flavors into an approachable contemporary format.

TAP

Entered this year’s list with the brand winning the Fast Casual Summit Perfect Pitch Winners qualified them for the finalists list. Led by brothers Pedro and Cleo Uchoa, TAP is a Brazilian café and wellness concept operating in New York and Miami. Its completely gluten-free menu is built around tapioca sandwiches, açaí bowls, pão de queijo and other Brazilian staples.

TAP’s opportunity lies at the intersection of culture, wellness and convenience, without allowing its dietary differentiation to define the limits of the brand.

RASA

Created by Sahil Rahman and Rahul Vinod, RASA makes Indian cuisine approachable through colorful branding, customizable bowls and a familiar fast-casual ordering experience.

The Washington, D.C.-area concept is pursuing one of the industry’s most compelling whitespace opportunities: building a scalable national platform around the depth, variety and plant-forward strengths of Indian food.

Bun Mee

Founder and CEO Denise Tran left a career in law to create a more accessible way for American consumers to experience Vietnamese cuisine.

Bun Mee centers its menu on bánh mì sandwiches, bowls, salads, and Vietnamese-inspired sides. With neighborhood and airport locations, the San Francisco brand has demonstrated portability, broad consumer appeal, and the potential to make bánh mì a much larger American sandwich category.

HomeState

Founded by Briana Valdez, HomeState brings the food, music and hospitality of Texas to Southern California.

Its breakfast tacos, queso and flour tortillas are supported by an unusually strong sense of culture and community. HomeState has built more than a restaurant concept—it has created an emotional brand grounded in place, music, collaboration and the founder’s personal story.

Gyro Republic

Founder and CEO Rehan Ranpuri is building Gyro Republic around halal Mediterranean street food and a highly customizable guest experience.

The Houston-based company is expanding across Texas and developing the systems required for broader franchise growth. Its place among the finalists will test whether strong execution, repeatability, and an expanding halal consumer market can produce the next significant Mediterranean platform.

NADC Burger

NADC—short for “Not a Damn Chance”—was created by professional skateboarder Neen Williams and chef Phillip Frankland Lee.

Its tightly edited menu features a double Wagyu smash burger and beef-tallow fries. With locations in several major markets, NADC combines premium product execution with skateboarding, street culture and a naturally social brand identity.

Milkbread

Joe and Katy Kindred translated the celebrated milk bread from their acclaimed Kindred restaurant into an accessible all-day café.

Milkbread combines doughnuts, crispy chicken, vegetable-forward bowls, coffee and comforting café food. The concept brings genuine culinary credibility to fast casual while creating opportunities across breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.

Coyo Taco

Founded in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood by Alan Drummond, Sven Vogtland and chef Scott Linquist, Coyo Taco combines authentic Mexican street food with the art, energy and nightlife culture of South Florida.

Fresh preparation, house-made tortillas and a strong experiential identity have allowed the brand to move beyond the traditional taqueria model and enter select international markets.

Curry Boys BBQ

Founded by Sean Wen, Andrew Ho and Andrew Samia, Curry Boys BBQ brings together two powerful culinary traditions: Texas barbecue and Southeast Asian curry.

The San Antonio-born concept has expanded to Nashville, received national culinary recognition and developed a following around a combination few competitors can replicate. Its central challenge, and opportunity, is converting that originality into a scalable operating model.

How SavorAI Will Select the Winner

The 2026 winner will not be determined by a popularity contest.

Each finalist will be evaluated by SavorAI, Savor.fm’s proprietary restaurant-intelligence model, using the industry’s largest dedicated dataset focused on fast-casual consumer behavior and brand sentiment. Along with Paul Barron and his 30 years of experience in tracking and analyzing thousands of restaurant brands.

Over the final 60 days, SavorAI will examine each finalist across the SavorAI major areas of analysis:

  • Consumer sentiment and brand affinity

  • Food quality and menu differentiation

  • Service and guest experience

  • Value perception

  • Customer loyalty and visit intent

  • Digital engagement and social momentum

  • Founder and leadership strength

SavorAI will analyze consumer signals, competitive positioning, brand momentum and growth readiness alongside insights drawn from the Frontrunners podcast interviews.

The objective is not simply to identify today’s most popular finalist. It is to determine which brand has the strongest potential to become a category-defining restaurant company.

The Final 60-Day Podcast Series

Several finalists will join Paul Barron on the Fast Casual Nation Frontrunner Series podcast during the evaluation period.

These conversations will go beyond menu descriptions and expansion announcements to explore the decisions that determine whether an emerging restaurant becomes a lasting company.

Topics will include founder vision, unit economics, consumer loyalty, technology, AI, payments, franchising, capital strategy and the challenge of protecting a brand’s culture while it scales.

The interviews will be distributed through Savor.fm and the Paul Barron Network, giving restaurant operators, investors and consumers an inside look at the people and ideas behind the 2026 finalists.
